Daniela Banci, Medius terrae Necklace, 2023, sterling silver, 750 rose gold, rock crystal, hydrothermal gemstones, Ø 27.5 cm

The necklace is made up of geometric hammered silver plates onto which hydrothermal gemstones are soldered. They alternate in a harmonious play of shapes and colours reminiscent of the sea, the earth and the sky. It is a clear reference to the Mare Nostrum, the Mediterranean Sea which joins and divides, juxtaposing diversities and favouring exchanges. The title of the work refers to Europe  as a middle land between the Ocean, the Mediterranean and the continent, a strategic social and cultural hub.
